RAFFI

Raffi

I'm a description. Click to edit me.
Raffi was living a lonely life on the streets and was so scared when he was rescued by Hope For Paws Rescue. They chased him for quite some time before they were finally able to catch him. We teamed up with Hope For Paws to help find Raffi his forever home. Raffi is shy with people he does not know but warms up once he gets to know you and feels safe. It does take him time to come out of his shell so he will need someone who is patient. He has limited hearing but he can hear louder sounds. He will need an experienced owner as he needs guidance and someone to build his confidence. Raffi loves other dogs and he will need a home with another confident dog that he can watch and learn from. He is good with cats too. He will need a calm household where he is not left for long hours and no young children but calm older children are okay. Raffi loves to go on walks and rides well in the car. Raffi is about 12 years old and weighs 10 pounds.
In September 2021, Raffi was diagnosed with a mild heart murmur caused by early stage mitral valve disease. He was seen by a cardiologist in late September 2021 and yearly checks thereafter where he got an echocardiogram. He does not need any medication or treatment at this time but will need annual check-ups with a cardiologist to monitor his heart. Raffi is also fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, flea/heartworm treated. And Raffi just had a full vet exam, senior blood panel with thyroid test, urinalysis, heartworm test, fecal test, dental cleaning, mouth x-rays and chest x-rays in August 2023 so he should not need any vetting at this time.
The adoption fee for Raffi is $250
Riley

Poor Riley was turned in to the shelter as a stray and she was in rough shape. She had overgrown matted hair with overgrown nails, and she was dirty and hungry. She also needed x-rays as she had a limp in her rear leg but the shelter said they were too busy and understaffed to do them! So, we got her out and got her x-rays which did not show any injuries, thank goodness and she was also spayed and received a dental cleaning. Riley also got all cleaned up and she is feeling much better and is now looking for her forever home. She does well with other calm dogs and cats. She would do okay as an only dog as long as she is not left for long hours. She does have some handling sensitivity with being groomed and nail trims so she will need a patient home/groomer to help her with that. We will not be adopting her to a home with children under the age of 10 as she can be a little nippy if startled. We believe she is a Maltipoo with possibly some Terrier and she is non-shedding so she will need haircuts. She is 7.5 pounds and is about 3-4 years old and is mostly potty trained but does have an occasional accident. If you are seeing this post, then she is still available for adoption and you will need to complete an adoption application under the adoption application tab.
