Welcome to our adoption process. To get started, please fill out our adoption application, which is the first step in our adoption process. We will conduct a home check, and if approved, you'll need to sign an adoption contract and pay a fee ranging from $250 to $750, based on the dog's medical needs. After reviewing your application, we will reach out if it's a match to schedule a meeting your potential new companion. Remember, adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment, so please consider the time and costs involved. We look forward to helping you find your perfect furry friend!
Please note the adoption process requires a nonrefundable minimum $10 donation to Smooch Pooch Dog Rescue to cover the expense and time involved in the potential adoption and to ensure your commitment to adoption. You can submit the donation via Venmo or Zelle if you have an account. If you do not have Venmo or Zelle, you will need to submit the donation via PayPal (no account needed), then proceed to the adoption application and put the Paypal/Venmo/Zelle transaction ID# when you submitted your payment. You DO NOT need a Paypal account to pay the $10 donation via Paypal. Our Paypal email is smoochrescue@yahoo.com or you can click on the donate button on the home page to submit payment. Our Venmo is @smoochpoochrescue.
Please complete our application only if you are ready and serious about adopting a pet and follow these instructions:
1. Make sure to read the pet's biography to ensure they are well suited for your lifestyle.
2. Please answer ALL questions honestly and completely. Failure to do so can result in your application not being processed.
3. Submit your nonrefundable minimum $10 donation via PayPal or Venmo. You can submit payment using the DONATE buttons on the home page. Make sure to put the name of the animal you are applying for in the Description of your payment. You can complete one application and a minimum $10 donation for multiple animals that you are interested in.
4. Record the Paypal, Venmo or Zelle Transaction ID# on the adoption application where it asks for it.
5. Make sure to answer EVERY question on the application, DO NOT skip over any questions or it will not allow you to submit it. There more information provided the better.
Once you submit the application, a message will appear "thank you for your application, we will be in touch." If you are not able to submit the application, you likely skipped a question.
Please know that if your application is not approved for any reason, we do not refund your donation as this is goes to the time and expense involved in the adoption process. Completion of this application, meeting the animal and a home check does not guarantee adoption of a pet.
