Jiminy is a very sweet and affectionate boy who was rescued from a high kill shelter. He is approximately a year old and weighs 27 pounds. He gets along with dogs who are not too overbearing and he loves to play. He is curious and barks at cats so probably a cat free house would be best unless one is willing to work with him. He does well with children. Jiminy will need an active owner who will continue his training.
Facts about Daffodil
Breed: Labradoodle Mix
Size: Med. 30 lbs
I am already spayed, microchipped, fecal & heartworm tested (negative), dewormed, flea & heartworm treated, blood panel, dental cleaning, up to date with shots, good with older calm children and good with dogs.
Daffodil was saved from a high kill shelter where she had been overlooked because she was shut down and in desperate need of a grooming. We saved her and now she is safe! She will need a home with an experienced owner, as she has some behavior issues. She needs to build her confidence and needs someone who will continue her training. She is a Mini Doodle, about 4 years old and weighs 28 pounds. Daffodil is sweet and loves attention. She is good with most dogs but does not do well with overbearing or hyper dogs. We think she would do best as an only dog where she can get the attention and training she needs. She is friendly with people and children. She is good on a leash and loves riding in the car. She is protective of her food bowl and tries to be in charge at times so she will need a strong pack leader who is calm and patient. She also does not like her nails cut or ears cleaned by people she does not know (allows her foster mom to do it) so she has to be muzzled when this gets done, but she allows grooming and brushing. Daffodil listens very well, is eager to please and is very responsive to training. We will not adopt her in a home with children. Please give this sweet girl the forever home she deserves.

Jelly Belly's Story...
Poor little Jelly Belly was turned in as a stray at a high kill shelter. She was in terrible shape and no one wanted this poor little girl. We rescued her and now she is safe and happy. We have her on a good diet and she is doing great. Jelly Belly is about 4 1/2 years old, and currently about 46 pounds. She is good with other dogs but likes to be in charge, so she would be best as an only dog or someone with bully breed experience. She likes to chase cats so a home without cats would be best. She can be shy at times when meeting new people but once she warms up, she will sit on your lap for pets and love. She is an active dog and will need an owner who has the time to train and exercise her. Jelly Belly is looking for someone who will love her forever.

Poor Phannie had been living on the streets fending for herself when Hope For Paws was contacted to rescue her. Hope For Paws was able to safely catch her and end her lonely days of living on the streets. She was dirty and matted with lots of fleas but she has since been all cleaned up with a new makeover. Smooch Pooch Dog Rescue teamed up with Hope For Paws to help Phannie find her forever home. Phannie did in fact find a home but she was returned after 2 years because she and the other dog in the home were not getting along. She was literally dumped on us without much notice.....poor Phannie was so confused. So once again, Phannie is looking to find her forever home. When Phannie was first rescued, she was diagnosed with a juvenile cataract in her right eye in which she was blind in. It has been surgically corrected by Eye Care For Animals and now she has vision in that eye but she is blind in her left eye. Phannie will need periodic rechecks, about every 12 months, with an eye specialist to make sure that all is okay with her eyes, so she will need someone who can provide that. The GOOD NEWS is that if she has any issues with either of her eyes or needs any further surgery, we will pay for that. Phannie is very confident with other dogs and loves people and kids. She loves to play with other dogs but can be bossy at times so she will need a strong pack leader to give her direction and leadership. She would do best in a home with a calm dog who does not challenge her or a home with no dogs. She is okay with cats but can sometimes be overly curious of them. She is very playful with the other doggies in her foster home and she has a good amount of energy. She loves attention and will sit on your lap for pets and affection. She is house broken and is good on a leash. Phannie is about 3-4 years old and about 13 pounds. She appears to be a Poodle/Shih Tzu/Yokie Mix and is such a cutie girl! Please give this sweet girl the home she deserves as she has only know a life on the streets but she would love to sleep by your side!
WE WILL NOT BE ADOPTING PRINCESS RUBY OUT OF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA.
This is because of health reasons, thank you for understanding!
Princess is a Chihuahua mix, approximately 7-9 years old and weighs 6.5 pounds. She is good with other dogs and cats too. She loves attention and sitting in your lap for pets and love. She will need a home that has the financial means to provide specialty veterinary care (Internal Medicine) as she suffered from severe anemia when first rescued by Hope For Paws. She is currently under treatment and has greatly improved but will need periodic rechecks which can be costly. Princess would do best in a calm household, no young children and if there are other dogs in the home, they will need to be calm and be respectful of her space.
